A practical first exercise

Start Here

Pick one real question and use AI to widen your thinking, not to skip it. Aim to finish with a clearer view of what changed and what remains uncertain.

Exercise 001 Ready

What You Need

A real question, your own initial view and enough time to check anything important.

Five steps

Keep Yourself Inside the Process

  1. Choose a real question.

Pick a decision, problem or topic that genuinely matters to you.

  2. Write your own initial view.

Before asking AI, note what you think, what you know and what you are unsure about.

  3. Ask AI to challenge your thinking.

Ask it to identify assumptions, missing evidence and reasonable alternatives.

  4. Verify important claims.

Use reliable sources for facts that matter to your decision.

  5. Record what changed.

Note what changed your mind, what did not and what remains unknown.

Three habits

What to Keep After the Exercise

Before

Think First

Start with your own question and initial view so AI does not quietly choose the frame for you.

During

Verify What Matters

Do not treat an AI response as proof. Check important claims against reliable sources.

After

Own the Decision

AI can assist your reasoning, but it does not take responsibility for your choice.

Practise Before Using a Real Question

If you want guided practice first, the Thinking Check explains the habits across ten scenarios and the Claim Check Lab focuses on whether source evidence can support an AI claim.
